The Key West International Airport in Florida is having their first ever Southernmost Openhouse & Aviation Review (SOAR) on Saturday, February 5th, 2011. Admission is free and gates are open from 9 AM to 4 PM. This family-friendly aviation event is being produced by a new 501(c)3, not for profit called Friends of the Key West International Airport, Inc. SOAR Key West will include static display aircraft to explore, airplane rides to be experienced (free to kids ages 8-17), aviation exhibits and merchandise booths to enjoy, food & beverage vendors to savor, and access to the new terminal. Vendor booth spaces and aircraft static display spaces are still available as well as sponsorship opportunities. Please note SOAR is not an air show nor a fly-in. For more information, see our web site at http://monroecofl.virtualtownhall.net/Pages/MonroeCoFL_Airport/soar/SOAR or email us at info.kwiasoar@yahoo.com or call Neal at 305-879-9306.
We’re hoping to spread the word via newsletters, magazines, online calendar postings, meetings or conventions, etc. We believe aviators will be interested because Key West in February is a great place to be! If anyone has never experienced the world class fishing, diving, arts & cultural activities that the Florida Keys has to offer, not to mention the warm water, great February weather, Sloppy Joe’s and Margaritaville, they should consider visiting our event.
